HeadsetThe 220 MHZ band is alive and riding the wave!

Every Monday night at 8:30 on the 224.78 repeater the 220 Round-Up Net is called. We started with just a handful of operators and now we have over 50 Secret Service members. Join the wave and get ready for the fun of being a Secret Service Member. You will have great pleasure in having your own assigned "double O" number and a badge is then issued. Upon completion of this simple two step process you are a duly sssigned member of the Secret Service. Please contact Ricky WA4NVM for a number assignment.
The available equipment on 220Mhz is limited for new mobile units to the Alinco 235T. Alinco also has a nice talkie for the band also. Several members are using handi-talkies Kenwood,Yaesu that have 220Mhz built into the talkie. A good source of radios is the Ebay reporter, Peter N4LI.
The activities on the repeater include discussions on the very diverse modes of communications offered by ham radio. If you have a interest, there will more than likely be someone available on the repeater to help with that special mode. During the summer time a prime topic is six meters, the magic band. During lulls in activity on six meters, satellites, sstv and meteor scatter are discussed. If you have a radio topic you would like to discuss, chances are you will find that special panel of Old Ham Experts on Tac 1 ready to take on the challenge of answering your question. A form is provided below for asking questions and submitting information on becmong a Secret Service Member on the very private 220MHZ frequency of Amateur Radio.
